Jane is a self-taught writer and artist of visual/graphic art and craft. For many years she has been crafting, working with paper, cloth, sculpture and creative writing. Jane has delexia and studies to improve. She lives on the out-skirts of Bendigo on farm land where she grows a natural environment and hosts wildlife. At the moment she managers pocket press, is in process of writing a novel about a girl with mental illness who writes in a diary and worki
ng on a poetry anthology. During her writing career Jane has been published in The Advertiser, The Local, The Weekly, Collectormania, CGCC Newsletter and writer/editor for Muse News, also a short-listed judge for the Goldfields Literary Award and coordinated and jugded a letter writing Competition.
Jane has been in a postcard exhibition in Tasmania with the Papermakers of Victoria, Mother’s Daughter’s Exhibition, Hanging by a Thread Exhibition and has been to visual artists workshops and writers talks/workshops including:
John Marsden, Andrea Goldsmith, Carmel Bird, Jan Cornall, Simone Howell, Rhonda Whitton, Lorraine Marwood, Tru Dowling, Ian Irvine, Barry Dickens, John Holton, and many more.
Jobs
Jane has worked as a waitress, gardener, bricky’s labour, factory worker, kitchenhand, shop manager, shop assistant, MMBW labourer and has done volunteer work for Innovative Resources, Bendigo, Alcohol Refuge Op Shop, Croydon and Lockwood Primary School running bookmark workshops during lunch time, working in Library and running a book making competition. Now, in 2011, she is the Arts Coordinator at Kangaroo Flat Community Artspace.
Jane is also a wife, mother and a grand nan. She has done workshops in Chapbooks, letter writing, art/craftwork and book making.Jane is a member of Papermakers of Victoria, Bendigo Writers Council , Kangaroo Flat Arts Inc. Her art/craft/writing site is http://inmindartbook.wordpress.com
